Job tasks and duties
The Riepe is a monthly street magazine for the North of the Netherlands. It informs readers about topics that live on the streets. De Riepe – the Groningen word for pavement – thus tries to narrow the gap between the homeless and ‘ordinary’ citizens. In making the street newspaper, participation and gaining work experience play an important role. The target group of homeless people is therefore central. What we do is in their interest. They buy the street newspapers and sell them. Of the selling price of €2.10, 90 cents is for the seller.
We are looking for someone to help us on a voluntary basis for a few half-days a week with the administrative side of the distribution process and organising things.
Job skills and qualities
- Customer-friendliness because our participants (homeless people) could use some kindness.
- Speaking up clearly and honestly without exaggerating, but also not concealing anything.
- To the extent possible, make sure people adhere to certain standards of behaviour, but you do not always have to do that; sometimes it is not a good time.
- You can also discuss your observations with the project management, and you can develop yourself.
