Staff member Restoring Family Links

Rode Kruis • job opening nr. 13800

Interesting about this job

The Red Cross, we all are. Together, we are a global network of people. A collective working together with one goal: to help people in need. Without volunteers, the Red Cross is nowhere. As a volunteer, you are there when needed, because in times of need, no one stands alone.
Not knowing where your father, mother, brother or sister is. This is the harsh reality for thousands of people every year. They have lost contact with their loved one due to:

  • A war.
  • A conflict.
  • A natural disaster.
  • By migration.

Where do you start looking?
The Red Cross helps with the search for missing relatives and restoring contact. We do this together with the International Red Cross Comité (ICRC) and all national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. With the help of this network, we can start a search in many places around the world. Would you like to contribute in finding and connecting families? Then this position at Restoring Family Links (RFL) is for you!

Job tasks and duties

What will you do?
As a Restoring Family Links volunteer, you will receive those seeking help at a Red Cross office, conduct interviews (with or without an interpreter) and complete a digital (tracing) form together. In doing so, you inform the claimant about the (im)possibilities of RFL services. You also liaise with help applicants and with professionals in the Migration and RFL department about the progress of a request for help. You ensure timely feedback on the (interim) results of the assistance request. You are also responsible for the administration of requests for help in the CRM registration system.

Minimum education level: lbo/mavo/vmbo
