Interesting about this job
The foundation board has three or five board members. The responsibilities are the organization and functioning of the foundation, general policy (such as evaluating and periodically adjusting the mission/vision of the Labyrint), financial policy and management, ensuring the functioning of the supported decision-making, personnel policy and housing. The board has a supporting role: it has close contact with the coaching circle, listens to questions and dilemmas and is open to (other) signals from the Labyrint. The foundation board works without pay. The board meets five times a year. In addition, the time spent is on average several hours per week, depending on the assigned tasks at that time.

Job skills and qualities

Extra information
Based on the conviction that secondary education can be more beautiful, better and more appropriate, we started the Labyrint in 2022. A small-scale school for 'heart-driven education', a place where young people can develop themselves without having to follow a predetermined path. Their own intrinsic motivation is leading in this. A team of passionate coaches, qualified teachers and volunteers with courage support them in this. In the 2025-2026 school year, there will be thirty-five to forty students in the Labyrint.
Organisation
We opt for a form of governance in which the students and all other parties involved in the Labyrint jointly form a 'tribe' and which is based on the equality of individuals. We organise decision-making sociocratically. This means that a decision can only be made if all those present do not have a predominantly substantiated objection to making that decision (consent principle). There are various circles that together ensure supported decision-making: the school circle (the heart of the school), the coaching circle and the management circle (the foundation board). There is also a mediation circle (where conflicts are dealt with) and a PR and communication circle. In addition to these circles, other circles can be set up (temporarily), such as an inspiration circle, sports circle and a garden circle. All circles have their own goal, with associated tasks, responsibilities and budget.
