The Groningen Municipal Food Bank and the Regional Distribution Center are staffed exclusively by volunteers. Our team of approximately 160 enthusiastic volunteers ensures that over 550 households in the municipality of Groningen can pick up a food parcel every week. We also ensure that the nine food banks in our region receive new supplies every week.

Job tasks and duties

We are looking for volunteers to help with food bank collections at supermarkets at various times throughout the year. This includes handing out grocery lists and receiving purchased items from customers, who can then return them to you after checkout.

CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN 2025
We are asking for volunteers to spend two hours of their time on Friday, December 12th, at any participating supermarket to hand out a grocery list from the Food Bank and ask customers to purchase a product from it and donate it to the Food Bank.

The time slots are two hours each: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, or 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
