Become an OV ambassador!

OV ambassadors explain public transport to anyone for whom travelling by public transport is not self-evident. During walk-in consultations, workshops or information meetings, OV ambassadors answer questions about, for example, the OV chip card, planning a trip, travelling with a discount, the ticket machine and checking in and out. In this way, OV ambassadors help people on their way in public transport.

In addition to these informative activities, OV ambassadors also organise trial trips. This allows people to experience what it is like to actually travel by train or bus. OV ambassadors take travellers by the hand and show them where to find everything, how a ticket machine works and how to check in and out. Most participants are 55+ and less digitally literate.

What can you expect from us?

• Training and support: of course you are not on your own, as an OV ambassador you will receive training, support and guidance from experienced OV ambassadors and project staff.
• Network of colleagues: we organise welcome-back days where all OV ambassadors can share their knowledge and experiences and where you are kept up to date with recent developments.
• Flexibility: you can decide how much time you want to spend on the OV ambassadorship. As a guideline, the minimum time commitment is 3 half-days per month.
• Reimbursement of travel expenses: OV ambassador is a volunteer position, of course travel and other expenses will be reimbursed.
